INTRODUCTORY GROUP PROCESS TRAINING

Objective: The aim of this introductory training in group process is to provide practising health professionals with the basic knowledge they require to work effectively with groups.

Structure: The workshop will be run over two days in a combined educational and experiential format with a minimum number of participants.

Content: The workshop will cover the following content areas:

  • Nature of groups
  • Content versus process
  • Roles in a group
  • Relationships in a group
  • Resolving conflict in groups
  • Role of the group leader
  • Group planning
  • Therapeutic models
  • Co-facilitation.

ADVANCED GROUP TRAINING

Objective: This advanced training in group process aims to extend the learning from the basic group process course in providing participants with specialised knowledge in group facilitation, design and evaluation.

Structure: This workshop will run over three days in a combined educational and experiential format with a minimum number of participants.

Content: This workshop will cover the following:

  • Dealing with critical incidences,
  • Designing groups,
  • Managing resistance and conflict,
  • Group techniques,
  • Evaluating groups,
  • Debriefing
  • Group Supervision.

PSYCHODRAMA WORKSHOP

Psychodrama is an innovative and exciting therapeutic technique that amalgamates dramatic activities with psychological process. It is both active and engaging for clients and has amazing utility with children, the mentally ill, intellectually disabled clients or any other people who don’t engage well with traditional “talking” therapies. This interactive one day workshop will introduce participants to the techniques and process of psychodrama such that their practice will immediately benefit.
